HC raps Lokayukta cops over delayed probe

Bengaluru, Jun 19 (DHNS): The High Court on Thursday pulled up the Lokayukta police officers for the delay in conducting an inquiry into the disproportionate assets complaint registered against Dr V L Nandeesh, professor of surgery, Mandya Institute of Medical Science.

While hearing the petition filed by Dr Nandeesh, who sought to quash the Lokayukta proceedings against him, Justice AN Venugopala Gowda came down heavily on the Lokayukta police for not conducting any inquiry into the complaint registered in 2013.

The court observed that Lokayukta police have to change the method of their investigation and keep up the name of the institution. The court directed the investigating officer to be present before the court in the next hearing.

Most of the Police\law officers\lok ayukta personnel are one way or the other under the influence of politicians and top Govt. officials i.e. tenants or helped for their jobs etc. etc. where they are hand tied but to do what these officials\politicians order them to do.
It has become a sad affair in India , even in organisations like Lok Ayukta honesty is going to dogs.
When BJP Govt. itself is trying to abolish LAyukta (like in Gujarat)for their own safety sake, then no one can do anything about it and the corruption will increase unabated.
