Mangaluru: Daijiworld TV to launch six new shows on first anniversary

Mangaluru, Jun 19: Daijiworld 24x7, the television channel of Daijiworld, is all set to celebrate its first year of success in the broadcast industry. The channel, which has earned popularity and become a household name in the coastal region in just one year, will celebrate the milestone with a Short Film Festival Awards gala on Sunday, June 21 at 5 pm at Forum Fiza Mall, Pandeshwar here.

On the occasion, six new reality shows to be telecast on Daijiworld 24x7 will be launched. The shows will be in different languages like Tulu, Konkani, Kannada and Beary.

Addressing a press meet here on Friday June 19, managing director of Daijiworld Television Pvt Ltd Roshan D'Souza said, "Daijiworld 24x7 TV has completed one year and to mark our success, we will hold a unique celebration with the Short Film Festival Awards gala at Forum Fiza Mall. Gilbert P Baptist, founder of Malaika Group will be the chief guest for the event. Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Siraj Ahmed, chairman and managing director of In-Land Group, Frank Fernandes, NRI entrepreneur and film producer, Shivadwaj, actor, director and producer, and Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiworld Group will be the guests of honour."

Director of Daijiworld Television Oneil D'Souza said, "The celebration also includes a Short Film Festival Awards ceremony. Daijiworld 24x7 had conducted a short film competition recently and the response was overwhelming. Six new reality shows will also be launched at this occasion. We are really proud to say that with the efforts of a dedicated team we have been giving good programmes and we will continue the legacy in the coming days too."

Production manager Mohammed Nissar said, "In order to promote local talents we had organized a short film festival and the response was overwhelming. In the first phase our jury comprising veteran achiever of Tulu film industry Sanjeeva Dandakeri, art director Thamma Laxmana, director (operations) of Daijiworld Media Melvyn Rodrigues and sound engineer Ashith Pinto chose the 12 best short films from the entries received. In the third phase 7 short films were chosen. Actor, director and producer Shivadwaj, movie director and actor Sandeep Malani and founder of Daijiworld Group Walter Nandalike selected the final winners.

"The awards for short film of the year, best director, best editing, best actor, best actress, best cinematography and grand jury award will be presented during the ceremony," he added.

Daijiworld 24x7 programmer Kushi said that event will be followed by entertainment with performances by Boyzone and City Guys group.

Daijiworld 24x7 news bureau chief Chandrashekar Aribail was also present.

    Congratulations to Daiji.
    Few suggestions 1) There are many channels in Kannada, and I suggest you to bring out an exclusive Konkani channel which can be aired in Coastal area and Goa. 2) Another suggestion is to bring out a Konkani Daily Newspaper, as there is none. I am sure these businesses will be very successful, since there is no competition.
