Udupi: Missing girls traced in Mumbai, brought back home

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi

Udupi, Jun 19: The two girls from here who had gone missing about three days ago have been found in Mumbai and brought back home to their families.

Sandhya D Shetty of Katapady and Divisha of Ajjarkad, both aged 19, and students of Udupi G Shankar Women's First Grade College, were reported missing since June 16. Separate complaints were lodged by their families after efforts to trace them failed.

It is now learnt that two were found at a railway station in Mumbai on Thursday June 18. The Udupi police who went to Mumbai brought the girls home on Friday June 19 and handed them over to their families.

Sources said that the two had scored low marks in exams, and out of fear of reprimand, they went to Mumbai.

Sandhya had left her house when her mother and brother were away, while Divisha had said that she would be going to college, but did not return home.

Agreed with John Comments. Yes, the pressure on students and Parents are too much as Every Parent wants their kid to outperform others. Is this be any help to develop the personality of our kids?? Can our kids stand on their own by just scoring high marks?? Where this race will go and end? Is our current education system responsible for this mess? How we can bring back the Good values among our kids and Parents?

It is not certainly low marks that lead both Girls from separate places to Mumbai. How come to the same place?some evil Hands must have promised good future.!Thank God they were found in time before they landed elsewhere.Thank you Police for the fast reaction. And you Girls, dont do such stupid Action any more.Put more efforts in your studies. It is in your Hands to get good marks or not.Think a bit far about your parents who had sleepless nights ,and fear. They had brought you up ,struggled for you,now give some happiness to them by your good character, school notes. It will help you too to get a good Job.Dont listen to somebody's wrong promises.Always let parents lead you when you have difficulty.trust them.Marks are not always important to leave house.have a strong character so that nobody interferes in your Family life. Now complete your studies .Today without good education specially Girls will have tough time. Now wish you all the best.Dont do it again the same failure.

It is unfortunate that students are under such extreme pressure for high marks.

Marks don't decide their future. And parents need to be more understanding.

Marks doesnt decide, but People are pouring money from KG class in lakhs. Only the educated has a value. Farmers and labours doesn't have a value that's why these girls ran away. They don't want to be hard workers. Our society has developed like that. Only money only money . Whatever the way but you need money. I dont know what ids the effect of education. The more girls are educated the more they are exploited. I dont know where ther education made girls independent. Values and morality has gone down and the educated are the most corrupt in this country .
