Unholy nexus between 'Chotta' Modi, 'Bada' Modi: Congress

New Delhi, June 19 (IANS): Alluding to an "unholy" nexus between Lalit Modi and the BJP government, the Congress on Friday reiterated the demand for the resignation of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia.

"Documents which have surfaced in the public domain show it is not just a case of impropriety but an unholy nexus," former union minister Jairam Ramesh told the media.

"There is an unholy nexus between Chotta Modi (Lalit Modi) and Bada Modi (the prime minister). The third protagonist in this nexus is Gautam Adani... when Modi became Gujarat Cricket Association president, he was part of it," he alleged.

"We expect the prime minister to speak after the Yoga Diwas - he is now sitting in a 'Lalit Asana where his ears, mouth and eyes are closed," he said.

Ramesh said the central government is caught in a trap of its own making and the only way it can save itself is by getting the resignation of the external affairs minister and the Rajasthan chief minister.

On the massive celebrations planned for the International Yoga Day, he said: "Morarji Desai, Indira Gandhi and Narasimha Rao...all have been prime ministers, they all practiced yoga, but nobody had advertised on yoga."
