Karkala, Jun 20: It is gathered that a gang of naxals having five members visited houses of villagers in Kuchchoor, Kajikallu, Pullantu, Kortabail, Kange, Kolchady, Handrani, Beerabettu, Mediupu and Pariyalu in and around Kabbinale a couple of days back. Their visit has given rise to a sense of fear and concern in the minds of the people.
The gang conducted house to house visits, and urged the families to donate liberally to them on the basis of their financial standing. To those families which expressed willingness to extend help to the extent possible, the naxals advised them to stop all religious rituals and observations, and donate the money so saved for naxal activities, it is said.
