Udupi: Richard D'Souza promoted as IAS officer, to be CEO of Raichur ZP

Udupi, Jun 19: Richard Vincent D'Souza, additional commissioner in the transport department, has been promoted as IAS (Indian Administrative Service) officer in an order dated June 12.

He has also been appointed as CEO (chief executive officer) of Raichur zilla panchayat and will take charge from Monday, June 22.

D'Souza was recently awarded the PhD degree from Bengaluru university for the thesis 'A study of attitudes and risk taking behaviour of drivers for road safety management'.

The doctorate was awarded in the recently held convocation ceremony in the presence of the governor of Karnataka in Bengaluru.

D'Souza is the husband of Florine D'Souza and father of Christen and Glen. He is the son of the late Urban D'Souza and Rita D'Souza of Mudarangady in Udupi district.

He is the brother of five sisters, including Sr Lenita D' Souza, the provincial superior of Ursulines, Mangaluru province.
