Amit Shah avoids practicing yoga in Patna


Patna, June 21 (IANS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah attended a yoga camp held here on Sunday, but left hundreds of people disappointed by not performing any asanas.

"Amit Shah participated in yoga camp at Moinul Haque stadium in Patna, which was attended by hundreds of people but he did not practice it despite appeals by the people," said a policeman deployed at the venue.

Shah innaugurated the yoga camp here and preferred sitting at a special stage in the stadium along with yoga experts. "But Shah did not practice yoga," one of the particpants said.

Speaking on this occasion, Shah said, "Yoga has increased honour and respect of the Indian culture in the world."

"I am happy that I got an opportunity to launch yoga diwas in Bihar, which is the land of yoga," he added.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad and state Congress president Ashok Choudhary did not participate in Shah's yoga camp.

Several senior BJP leaders, including half a dozen union ministers participated in yoga camps held in different districts across Bihar.
