Rain in Delhi minutes after yoga event ended


New Delhi, June 21 (IANS): It began to rain in Delhi just minutes after a record-breaking yoga event ended at the Rajpath on Sunday.

It was a cloudy Sunday morning in the national capital, with rainfall in some areas of the city.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius, one notch below the season's average.

The Met Office has forecast an overcast day. Rainfall measuring 1 mm was recorded in some areas of the city at 8.30 a.m.

"Light rain with thunderstorms could occur in some areas of the city. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 37 degrees Celsius," said an official at the India Meteorological Department.

Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was recorded at 65 percent.

Saturday's maximum temperature settled at 38.5 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season's average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 27.2 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average.
