Hundreds mark International Yoga Day in Fiji


Suva, June 21 (IANS): Hundreds of people performed yoga across Fiji to mark the International Yoga Day on Sunday.

In the country's second largest city Lautoka, celebrations were held at the Girmit Centre where about 500 people turned up to be a part of the event, the Fiji Times reported.

India's High Commissioner to Fiji A. Gitesh Sarma and his wife, Ratnamala Sarma also attended the celebration.

Similar celebrations were held at some temples and other places in the capital city of Suva, with people taking part in yoga.

Indians account for 44 percent of Fiji's population.
