Six kg of gold looted in Agra


Agra, Jun 22 (IANS): Six kg of gold was looted from a jeweller and his brother while they were returning home here late Sunday, police said.

A gang of five armed men on motorcycles accosted Rinku Bansal and his brother Robin Bansal.

Rinku Bansal told the police that they were returning from their jewellery shop in bullion market Chaubey ji ka Phatak around 10 p.m. on their scooter with two bags containing gold. They were headed to their home in Balkeshwar colony.

At a desolate spot in Vijay Nagar colony, they were stopped by the five men who snatched their bag containing gold. They also took away their scooter.

Superintendent of Police R.K. Singh said a massive search has been launched for the looters.
