Moodbidri, May 1: The annual grand festivities of Shridevi Annapoorneshwari Kshetra, Hosanadu near Kodyadka near here are going on full swing for the last couple of days.
The celebrations began on Sunday April 30 evening with thorana muhurtam at 6.05 pm followed by vaastu pooja, Rakshoghna homa and prakarabali (sacrifice).
Kalashabhisheka (pouring water, milk, tender coconut water, curds and ghee on the deities) was formed on Monday April 30 with meals to the devotees in the afternoon.
The grand car festival was held on Tuesday May 1 with devotees pulling the car along the temple courtyard with zeal and zest. Special pooja with flowers was offered to the temple deity in the afternoon before the Shri Manmatha-harotsava.
A sacrifice to the god too was offered after the Shri Manmatha-harotsava. The huge numbers of devotees who have been thronging in all around were served food in the afternoon.
