Gurgaon unauthorised colonies to get water: Official

Gurgaon, June 22 (IANS): The unauthorised colonies in Gurgaon will get water supply on the basis of community system, a top official said on Monday.

"Supply of drinking water was just satisfactory in urban areas of Gurgaon. If there is any problem, water will be provided through the tankers," said Deputy Commissioner Gurgaon, T.L. Satyaparkash.

The state government has taken up work on all master pipelines in campaign mode and most of these will be completed during the current financial year.

"For providing drinking water in unauthorised colonies, the permission has been taken from Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) to dig bore wells," said Satyaprakash at a press conference here.

"There pipelines will not be laid, instead the people will be provided community-based water supply. The administration has identified 13-14 places for digging bore wells," he added.
