S R Patil panel to submit report on BBMP trifurcation soon

Bengaluru, Jun 23: The State Legislature’s select committee on trifurcation of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), headed by Karnataka’s Minister for Information Technology and Bio-technology S R Patil, will soon submit a report to the Government shortly.

Patil, who presided sixth meeting of the panel, said the officials visited other metropolitan studies and provided valuable inputs to the panel on splitting the city corporation on Karnataka Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill-2015.

The B S Patil committee, which is also studying the division of BBMP, would submit its final report to the Government before June 30, the Minister Patil

Following opposition from BJP and JD(S) members, the Bill on splitting the BBMP was referred to select committee of the legislature.
