Mangaluru, Jun 24: Capt D S Jain (60), a pilot of Air India Express, died of cardiac arrest in a private hospital in the city on Monday June 22. He was a native of Gurgaon, Haryana, near New Delhi.
Capt Jain was the pilot of Mangaluru - Abu Dhabi flight operated by Air India Express. After the flight touched down at the airport here at around 5 pm on Monday, he reached a hotel near State Bank in the city, where arrangements for his stay had been made. Thereafter, he visited nearby Nehru Maidan for a walk, during which period he experienced severe chest pain. Immediately one of his friends admitted him into a private hospital in the city. He did not properly respond to treatments given in the hospital, and passed away at night.
On Tuesday, his mortal remains were taken away to Gurgaon by his wife, daughter, and brother, who arrived in the city by a air, by Jet Airways flight.
