Bantwal, Jun 25: A gang of inter-state thieves, who had perfected the art of stealing stocks of areca nut from areca marketting centres and godowns used for storing areca nut, on Tuesday June 23. The gang used to travel in car and steal areca nut from these places during nights.

The arrested thieves have been identified as Muhammed Nawaz (24) Muhammed Shaffi (35) from Katipalla, Suratkal, Vijay (35) from Kulai, Mangaluru, Habib Hassan (28), resident of Permannur, and Muhammed Azharuddin (27) from Neermarga.

The thieves already face two cases of theft in Bantwal town station, three in rural station here, and one in Vittal police station. It is said that during their questioning, the gang members confessed that they were the ones who stole eight gunny bags of areca nut weighing 65 kg each from the areca nut shop of Kamalaksha Shenoy at Baddakatte on the night of May 14 this year.

The gang used to travel around in a Maruti car after dusk, posing as tourists, and struck when opportunity to steal came their way. Their gamut of activity spread through Bantwal taluk, Panambur Mangaluru, Beltangady, Vittal, and Udupi, the policemen found during their sustained questioning.

The police personnel have succeeded in confiscating huge stock of areca nut from the thieves. The operation to nab them was led by Bantwal police circle inspector, K U Belliappa, town station house officer, Nandakumar, and others.

From the places where they belong to, it is sure that they are well aware of rural areas of farming and well versed with the village secrets. What is noticed here is a major shift from Cattle plundering to Nut business! In crime there is no religion.

    Missing is only Antony.

Like that there are 'other acts' which resemble climbing, mounting and all that stuff. They do not come under the umbrella of Yoga. Yoga is restricted to some postures
and definitely to a disciplined routine exercise.
Climbing Areca and other stuff does not come under Yoga purview. You tell your Buddy-Baab..that..O.k.?

Police recover the stock from the traders who had unknowingly had purchased the same from the thieves.
The loser here is the merchant who can have no knowledge or ways to find out if it belongs to the sellers. An insurance policy to cover it might be introduced soon as more such cases happen these days!

When will we Indians live an honest life ? Please teach your children how to behave and what deeds are punishable so that they don't grow up as thieves, criminals, murderers or rapists ! Action by government, stricter laws, harsher punishment is secondary !

Polygamy results in large number of offsprings who are not attended to properly. Illitracy and poverty leads these young ones to get into petty crimes.
The problem expands when they lure other boys from good background for the easy money and pull them too into these crimes.

    Shankar,

Multiple off-springs does not require polygamy - check Lalu Parasad Yadav and many more prominent politicians.

Secondly if Ashta-Putro-Bhava blessing of RSS is to be taken seriously, polygamy is out of question ! Essence lies in nurturing our next generation, whether just one or a dozen !

Luring is one side of the coin, the other is giving in to luring. When our sustenance is robust, no mountain can move us.

You do not know your opposite gender that very well...
A small pocket sized dynamo sort of lady with robust errrrr..well, leave it..is enough to lure many and make many a thing move..O.k.?
No amount of good upbringing helps here..
