Indian, Chinese foreign ministers hold talks in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, June 25 (IANS): The foreign ministers of India and China held talks here on Thursday morning on the sideline of an international conference to provide aid to Nepal for rebuilding its infrastructure in the wake of a series of quakes.

According to external affairs ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup, the talks between Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi were focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and coordination.

During a meeting with Nepalese Prime Minister Sushil Koirala on Wednesday evening, Wang proposed to develop a China-Nepal-India corridor. He told Koirala this had been discussed with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his China visit.
