Her family members said Kusuma had walked out of the house after lunch on Thursday, although normal practice for her was to join other family members in watching television programme. When some went to find where she had been, they found her body from a well inside the garden.

Kusuma used to stay with her children at Pune, and had come on a visit to her native place ten days back. She had come to the house of her elder sister in Mogarnadu on Sunday June 21. It is learnt that she had become depressed after one of her sons died three years back. Recently she also started suffering from herpes. Her close ones felt that she would have found the pain of this disease unbearable.

Kusuma has left behind a son and a daughter. A report of unnatural death was registered in the town station here. Investigation is being held.
