Fake notes, sandalwood seized in Bengal


Kolkata, June 26 (IANS): The BSF has seized fake Indian currency notes (FICN) with face value of nearly Rs.4 lakh and 28 kg of sandal wood in two separate incidents near the Bangladesh border in two West Bengal districts, an officer said Friday.

"The FICN with face value of Rs. 3.98 lakh was seized late Thursday night near Churiantpur border outpost in Malda district while the sandal wood valuing Rs. 2 lakh was seized near R C Pur border outpost in Nadia district while they were being smuggled to Bangladesh," said a Border Security Force (BSF) officer.
