Guerrilla hideout busted in Kashmir


Jammu, June 26 (IANS): Security forces on Friday busted a guerrilla hideout in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district and seized some arms and ammunition, a defence statement said.

"A joint search operation was launched by the troops of Rashtriya Rifles and the Special Task Force of the state police in Bhimal Nala of Doda district at 12.30 p.m. A terror hideout was busted in this operation from which a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered," said the statement.

Among the seizures was a 9mm pistol, two 30mm under barrel grenade launchers (UGBLs), a rocket propelled grenade launcher, five canister booster for RPG rockets, five 30mm grenades for UGBL, six Chinese hand grenades, seven AK-47 magazines, three 9mm pistol magazines, two AK-47 rounds, 169 rounds of PIKA rifle, 27 rounds for a 7.62mm Sniper Rifle and 14 9mm pistol rounds.
