Mangaluru, Jun 27: Suresh Suvarna (40), son of the late Banajalu Krishnappa Suvarna from Kaukrady village near Nelyady, Puttur taluk, breathed his last in a private hospital here on Friday June 26.
Suvarna had complained of fever four days back. After he was treated in Uppinangady for two days, he was referred to the city as fever did not subside. His condition deteriorated on Thursday, and he turned comatose. On Friday morning, he died of suspected dengue at the hospital.
Suvarna is survived by wife and a daughter. He was the brother of zilla panchayat member, Balakrishna Banajalu, and was active in social and religious occasions. A number of dignitaries including MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA, S Angara, zilla panchayat president, Asha Timmappa Gowda, district BJP secretary, Sanjeeva Matandoor, Puttur taluk panchayat president, Pulasya Rai, and many other paid their last respects to him. He was running poultry business, and chicken centres at Uppinangady were closed on Friday as a mark of respect to the deceased.
Jagadish Naik (35), a resident of Mundovumoole in Ajjikallu, Volamogru village in Puttur taluk died on Thursday June 25 afternoon in a private hospital in the city of suspected dengue. After he suffered from fever, he had been treated in a private hospital at Puttur before being referred to a city hospital for advanced treatment.
Naik has left behind wife and two children.
