Wanted gangster held in Delhi

New Delhi, June 28 (IANS): Delhi Police have arrested one of the top 10 gangsters wanted for various serious cases in the city, officials said on Sunday.

Vikas Langarpuria, in his 30s, was arrested on Saturday night on a tip-off about his visit to a place in the city.

Langarpuria, a notorious extortionist, had in 2012 attacked former legislator from Najafgarh Bharat Singh.

His men had forced themselves inside Singh's office and shot him.

Langarpuria was earlier arrested from Najafgarh area in 2013 for extorting money from a builder. He was later released on bail.

Since then, he was on the run and was declared a proclaimed offender by a district court here.
