Hyderabad, Jun 29 (News One) : After Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley’s daughters Sonali Jaitley and Vasundhara’s son Dushyant SIngh, a recent news reports is claiming that the Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu’s son lands him in trouble now.
According the reports, the Telangana government had showed partisanship to vehicle dealerships which are owned by the sons of the Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu and chief minister of Telangana K. Chandrasekhar Rao in dealing with the purchase of Toyota Innova cars and Honda motorbikes for the police department last year. This partisanship to vehicle dealership was strongly denied by the Telangana State government.
On Saturday, NewsX reported that a total of 3,883 Innova cars and 2,000 motorbikes which worth Rs 271 crore were bought in Telangana State without hovering any tenders to benefit the high-profile dealers. However, K.T.Rama Rao, the IT minister completely denied owning any such vehicle dealership and termed the entire report as “nonsense and baseless”.
According to media reports, Anurag Sharma, the director-general of police of Telangana state said, “The government had sanctioned Rs 206 crore to purchase patrolling vehicles which include HMVs, LMVs, MMVs and motorcycles. All the vehicles which were under DG&D Rate Contract were directly purchased from the manufacturers or its authorised dealers under DG&D Rate Contract fixed by the Government of India by following codal formalities. The vehicles which are not under DGS & D rate contract were solicited through an open tender system, on e-procurement platform. The report that no tenders were called for is absolutely false.”
The IG of provisioning and logistics, Sanjay Kumar Jain said, “The media report about the 3,883 Innova cars brought is completely fake and false. Only 696 cars were purchased from Innova while the rest were purchased from Mahindra, Tata etc. Furthermore, we placed orders with the manufacturers through the e-procurement system.”
However, the Telangana police department is now reportedly planning to file a defamation suit against NewsX for telecasting a false report without verifying the facts.
