UAE Exchange joins Dubai Metro Naming Rights project

Media Release

Dubai, Jun 30: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has inked an agreement with UAE Exchange, whereby the latter has joined the Dubai Metro Stations Naming Rights project and has become entitled to rebrand Jebel Ali Metro Station on the red line.

The company has thus become an integral part of the revamping process driven by the RTA on the ground through the metro project which has effectively contributed to transforming the concept of cooperation between partners into an advanced level of integration and comprehensive partnership in the concept of branding.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the RTA by Abdullah Yousef, CEO of rail agency, and on behalf of UAE Exchange by its president, Y Sudhir Kumar Shetty, in the presence of a host of officials from both parties.

Yousef commended the decision of UAE Exchange; one of the key remittance and foreign exchange brands, not only within the UAE but covering more than 32 countries, to join the Metro Naming Rights project, entitling the company to place its name on the station. “Having UAE Exchange on board is a further testament to the success of the naming rights which has evolved into a source of attraction to mega businesses in the UAE. It also reflects the rising awareness of the community of national and international branding and the need to work on the investment opportunities opened for those brands; which will contribute to uplifting the services of the metro project in a creative and distinctive style.
“The UAE Exchange Station has a host of geographical features highlighted by its strategic location in Jebel Ali Zone; one of the key Free Zones in the Middle East hosting a variety of sectors in the fields of technology, IT, telecommunication, finance, business, gold and jewelry, and medical care to name a few,” said Yousef.

“The metro has shaped into a creditable icon of the success of mass transit systems in the Emirate and we take pride in renaming Jebel Ali Station as UAE Exchange Station,” said Y Sudhir Kumar Shetty. He expressed his delight on the partnership with RTA in this giant project; which echoes the vision of the prudent leadership of the UAE and the importance attached to cooperation between public and private entities towards serving the interest of the community and individuals.

The lineup of key strategic entities that have joined the Metro Stations Naming Rights on both the red and green lines include: Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, DAMAC Properties, Mall of the Emirate, Deira City Center, Etisalat, GGICO, Sharaf DG, First Gulf Bank, Nakheel, Palm Deira, Nakheel Harbour and Tower, Dubai Airport Free Zone, Noor Bank, Burjuman and Danube.
