Very sad to read the comments of our people. How narrow minded we are as 21st century citizens of Kudla. Her contribution as a cabaret dancer and actor is immense. Has she not entertained our elders in '50s to '80s when movies and film songs were only the entertainment. I appreciate the Khan family who have been giving her respect and fame now. Please welcome her in our state with good spirit so that she will relish the hospitality and love we people of Karnataka, showed on her.

Helen was gifted with Cabaret Dancing. Superb Dancer . Even a man with no iota of inner sensation will wake up by seeing her Cabaret. Highly Successful Celebrity of yesteryears. Whether its with Amitabh (don) Or With Rajesh (Mere Jeevan saati) Or With Shammi (evening in Paris) or Mehmood (Lak Me Ek,Shatraj,Gumnaam) she was the best of best .

Welcome Ms. Helen to Namma Kudla. !! It is good to have you in our city for the 01st time. Have a pleasant stay and fruitful visit. Hope you will return with good memories of our city - Mangalore.
Dear Abdulla, what you have written about Mangalore is not all true and not all correct. we as citizens also are responsible for few problems in our city. But your comments look like you have lived out of India more than inside India. We the people do not know how to voice against corrupt politicians when jobs are not done. We throw garbage at place when we are not supposed to. Our vehicle driving and parking sense is just as bad as you say. But our systems are such that you still get away with it.Come on Mangalore is so much better than what it was few years ago. Let us learn to appreciate good rather than ridicule the unpleasant. After all " Rome was not built in a day, so is it for Mangalore." !!

Season comes with reason, for everything have time, so why we has to criticize, worst people can change upside down or inside out. empty handed we came in this world, and go same, nothing name fame, talents wealth anything we cannot take, that also we don’t know how we will depart and when,
All are human been, do wrong and right, we cannot condemn or control.
Today I saw in face book great man wrote
Judge not, so that you will not be judged’ We should talk to people to be saved. I mean, we should talk salvation, not condemnation.
“God hates sin, not sinners. When I say, ‘Do not judge so that you will not be judged’, I mean we should hate sin, not the sinner because sinners can change. If you have killed a sinner by judging him, there will be no opportunity for change. Sinners can be delivered. We should hate the act, not the people because our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the ‘spirit beings’ that cause all these acts.”

    what city?
    It is a Jungle..
no good roads..no road ethics.. no lighting: no walkways..no dividers.. Traffic jams.. erratic.traffic..
signaler .name plates with spelling mistakes....
    Filth/garbage..unkempt roads. filthy markets...
Side walks are up and down.. open sewers...
what city are we talking about?
all that we have now, is amass of people crowding each day from various quarters and running their daily chores. as there is no option.
There is no master plan..urban plan.. rural plan.. with amenities.facilities.
Look at the traffic and the people can even walk safely on the sides..is this then CITY NORMS? OF a UPCOMING CITY?
what it is nothing but a joke.
Mangalore wa calm.. clean peaceful town 40 years ago..now getting to be like NBombay only in terms of population.. there is nothing..even the new airport isn't built to any standards.the builders have made their QUICK BUCKS. disgusting!
    what are we proud off?
Look at the small neat and clean airports in china? these days even in tier 2 and tier 3 cities of china?
    what is different ..
    we are JUGAAD and corrupt.people..
    who cares.BINDAAS attitude..no quality..no finesse.all crude.

Mr. Abdulla you are exaggerating on filth and garbage!!!!!! Except this I agree with you on other points. Even Garden city is more dirtier than any other place. People throw garbage anywhere because there are no garbage bins. When rains stinks. Our Mangalore needs to improve on traffic rules and pedestrian pavements. People are becoming self centered.

Helen suffered hardships and difficulties during her childhood. She left her education to feed her sisters and mother. With no option, she went to Cabaret... Let us at least respect her for this...

Anyway she is the guest of Kudla. Hope she will have a great time at Dharmashtala Naturopathy..

    Simon,

Before judging others, we must judge ourselves and then those around us. I don't think Helen counts among anybody close to you so that she is governed by your judgement.

Secondly, she is not down to Dharmasthala for pilgrimage, she will be in the Hospital for Yoga and Nature Cure. If you shoooo away treatment seekers like this, someday our hospitals will be bankrupt !

@ Lydia, what is wrong even if she comes to pray the lord Manjunatha. Does she has no rights to pray the God.She was playing the role only as an actress for her livelihood and by that she has not committed any crime.
People have no problems if a criminal visits the temple or church and donates money there.
Coming to her faith, oh come on,singer Jesudas is a great worshiper of Godess Durga.
