62-year-old employer booked for raping saleswoman


Gurgaon, June 30 (IANS): A 62-year-old man has been booked here for allegedly raping his 25-year-old saleswoman, police said on Tuesday.

The owner of a readymade garments showroom at Raheja Mall here on Sohna road has been booked for allegedly raping one of the saleswomen working in the showroom. The accused, who is absconding, has been identified as Ramesh Bansal, an official said.

"I was first raped in the Gurgaon showroom during the night by Bansal when I was on duty. Bansal then threatened me with dire consequences and said that he will sack me if I disclosed it," the victim said in her complaint.

"He would usually come to my house and raped me on several occasions. Now, I have run out of patience," she added.

The alleged victim, hailing from Punjab, had married her boyfriend from Gurgaon last year. "She used to work at Bansal's garment showroom in Ludhiana and was later shifted to Gurgaon," a senior police officer told IANS.

A case was registered at the Sadar police station.

The victim also recorded here statement before a magistrate.
