Military checkpoints attacked in Egypt's Sinai


Cairo, July 1 (IANS): Militants launched attacks on five military checkpoints in Egypt's North Sinai peninsula on Wednesday.

Al Ahram Arabic news website quoted security forces as saying that militants have simultaneously fired mortar rounds at five checkpoints in Sheikh Zowayed, a town in North Sinai.

There was no immediate reports of casualties.
