Modi launches 'Digital India Week' to empower people via IT

New Delhi, July 1 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched the "Digital India Week" as part of the larger initiative to empower the people and extend services better with the use of information technology and its tools.

The prime minister also unveiled a logo for Digital India, an umbrella programme that seeks to transform India into a digitally-empowered, knowledge economy with a host of initiatives for a synchronized and coordinated engagement of the government and its agencies.

Foer this scheme, the prime minister has already been named chairman of a high-powered monitoring committee and all existing and ongoing e-governance initiatives will be revamped to align them with the larger principles of "Digital India", according to an official statement.

The larger goal of Digital India includes broadband connectivity in all panchayats, Wi-fi in all the schools and universities and public wi-fi hotspots in all important cities by 2019. It will be deployed in delivering services in areas like health, education, agriculture and banking.

The vision is centred on three key areas:

- Digital infrastructure as a utility to every citizen

- Governance and service on Demand

- Digital empowerment of Citizens

Farmers will be have no Land. They will be suiciding and their family member can see the Land and green field on a Tablet and say " Son we too had land but not there now see the fields in this Tablet we dont have food see the food in this tablet because Modi has given us the Tablet and internet connection". Use your IT technology in Railway ticketing. Till date the commuters are suffering and the tickets are sold before anybody gets. There is a big scam inside railway. Make it transparent. Install ticketing machines in Railway stations. to avoid the queue. Use that IT technology in installing CCTV in each police station and Each cities and connect them centrally, at least you can catch the culprits. Monitor each government office through CCTV. Take out the duplicate ration cards and LPG connections make that process IT enabled. This is true digitalization.

Simply take the city of Delhi, nobody knows exactly the population of Delhi, but may be 25 million and out of that 1/3 may be living in the slums.

The half-naked and hungry people all across India need belly full of food not high tech internet connection.

Mr. Modi may be providing computer to 1.2 billion people, changed the toilet promise. Thus the poorest people can order their fast food through the internet with the punching of the button and when delivering the food, instead of paying with cash or credit card, paying with a bottle full of tears. India is rapidly progressing.
