Two die after public feast in Madhya Pradesh


Bhopal, July 1 (IANS): Two people died and 70 were taken ill after they had food at a bhandara (public feast on religious occasion) organised by a temple in Madhya Pradesh's Panna district.

Over 1,000 people had food at the bhandara held at a temple in Mudwari village, following which more than 70 people complained of stomach ache and diarrhoea, district police officer Raghunath Khatekar told IANS.

He said two people died while being treated in hospital. An investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of the tragedy.
