Haryana plans media centre at Gurgaon


Gurgaon, July 1 (IANS): The Haryana government has moved a proposal to set up a media centre in Gurgaon aiming to provide facilities to journalists, an official said on Wednesday.

The idea of setting up media centre was brought into the consideration of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. Abhilaksh Likhi, Haryana's director general, Public Relations and Cultural Affairs, discussed the matter with the chief minister.

Reacting to the plan, Khattar instructed Likhi to submit the detailed plan report as soon as possible.

On the directions of government, R.S. Sangwan, deputy director, Public Relations and Cultural Affairs, National Capital Region (NCR), Haryana, has submitted a proposal for media centre in Gurgaon.

"Media is considered to be the fourth pillar of the Indian democracy. Gurgaon has established its identity globally to fulfill the requirements of media persons, the dedicated centre is needed," Sangwan said.
