Implement Medical Protection Act in Jharkhand: Women doctors


Ranchi, July 1 (IANS): Women doctors on Wednesday reiterated their demand for implementation of the Medical Protection Act in Jharkhand.

The state chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) reiterated the demand on the occasion of Doctors Day.

IMA Jharkhand women doctors wing president Bharti Kashyap told IANS: "We are demanding implementation of Medical Protection Act in Jharkhand. On Doctors Day, we are again reiterating our demand."

The act aims to protect doctors, nurses and hospitals from violent attacks.

The IMA has expressed its concern over the increase in cases of violence against doctors and medical establishments.
