This partnership will enable Christ University to offer the CMA certification to its students who study using official IMA-licensed Wiley CMAexcel Learning System and training will be delivered by IMA’s official training partner in India, Miles Professional Education.

With this tie up, Christ University commerce students will seek to improve their credentials, knowledge base and career prospects with the US CMA (Certified Management Accountant) designation. The tie up will enable students a membership of the IMA (Institute of Management Accountants), US. It will enhance knowledge base of management accounting and financial management. It has online computerized exams with centres across India. Students will have to write two exam papers with recommended study of 400-500 hours in total over 6-8 months.

The US CMA (Certified Management Accountant) awarded by IMA is a global professional qualification. The CMA program is designed specifically to validate mastery of the advanced skills required to manage finance functions within an organization, enabling professionals to deliver value in today’s complex business environment.

As global marketplaces get increasingly competitive for accounting and financial professionals, the US CMA certification has started acting as one of the key differentiators in ensuring job readiness and career advancement. Indian accounting and finance students as well as professionals can also be a part of the elite group having this highest management accounting qualification in the US. Not only does the US CMA certification empower professionals with skill-sets for global credibility and opportunities with Multi-national Corporations, it can also be achieved in a relatively shorter timeframe as compared to equivalent Indian certifications.

“The partnership between Christ University and Institute of Management Accountant (US) will open up new frontiers of professional competencies to our students which will enhance and strengthen their business acumen and employability skills. Further, this collaborative support and the support of Wiley and Miles will indeed help them to attain global competitive positions by applying the acquired finance and accounting skills, whilst addressing the business needs,” said Prof Thomas Joseph, associate dean, deanery of commerce, Christ University.

The partnership between Christ University, IMA, Wiley and Miles Professional Education is part of IMA’s India initiative to create a talent pool of CMAs in India. The objective of this partnership is to help Christ University commerce students pursue the CMA course along with their graduation or post-graduation, and take their careers to the next level with this globally-recognized CMA certification comprising only two exam papers, which can be cleared with preparation over 6-8 months.
