Udupi: Youngster drowns in pond at Barkur

Udupi, Jul 5: A 17-year-old youngster drowned in a pond at Barkur here on Sunday July 5.

The deceased has been identified as Anish Picardo, son of Alphonse and Sabitha Picardo, residents of Hosala, Barkur.

It is said that a group of around seven or eight boys had gone for a swim when the tragedy occured.

The incident came to light only later after his father was informed about it in the evening.

Anish was a BCom student of SMS College, Brahmavar.

A case has been registered.
