UAE Tulu Koota to mark silver jubilee with grand Tulu Parba in Oct

Dubai, Jul 6: 'Tulu Parba', a cultural extravaganza that every Tuluva in the UAE waits for eagerly, will be organized by UAE Tulu Koota-Dubai on October 9 this year at Al Nasr Leisureland. The event will also be part of the silver jubilee celebrations of UAE Tulu Koota.

'Tulu Parba' is hosted once in two years by enthusiastic Tuluvas residing in the UAE under the banner of UAE Tulu Koota-Dubai. C R Shetty, chief convener and founder of the association, and recognized leader, is the driving force behind this grand event.

Now in its 25th year of glory, UAE Tulu Koota, founded by C R Shetty and the late Umesh Nantoor, has already started to prepare for its grand silver jubilee event and make it a memorable one.

Tulu Parba will be a rare occasion to witness the rich culture, heritage and cuisine of Tulunadu, an opportunity to meet long-lost friends and relatives. Against the backdrop of Tulunadu village setting, the aroma of Mangaluru jasmine, very typical Mangaluru cuisine of various communities, performing arts like Yakshagana, dance drama, world famous tiger dance, 'bhoota kola', coconut and mock cockfight etc will enhance the festival mood and atmosphere. The event is sure to take everyone down memory lane, say the organizers.

Organizer Daya Kirodian has informed that popular comedy kings of Tulu theatre and cinema Devdas Kapikad, Naveen Padil, Bhojraj Vamanjoor and Arvind Bolar will join the Tulu Parba and entertain the crowds with humourous peformances, which will be the highlight of the event.

Also, there will be an attractive procession comprising different types of tableaux, with people of all religions and communities participating dressed in traditional attires.
Local talents in the UAE will also showcase cultural programmes along with well-known artistes who will fly all the way from Mangaluru to entertain the Tuluvas.

Organizer K R Tantry said that UAE Tulu Koota-Dubai committee members are in an upbeat mood, exerting their entire energy and resources to make the event better than any other in the UAE. The organizers are expecting more than 3,000 Tuluvas to attend this event, and be entertained from the beginning till the end. He has requested all Tuluvas residing in and around the UAE to attend in large numbers with their friends and relatives and also requested everyone to come in traditional attires to give a festival touch to Tulu Parba.

Speaking to daijiworld, chief convenor and founder C R Shetty said that UAE Tulu Koota has got its own identity since its inception 25 years ago. "The name Tulu Parba started from UAE Tulu Koota-Dubai, and now it is used everywhere for cultural programmes, which we feel very proud of. This Parba will highly entertaining with an atmosphere of Tulunadu. UAE Tulu Koota is one of the oldest associations in the UAE and we are here just to promote our Tulu culture without any barrier of religion, caste or creed. We request all community leaders and Tulunadu people to attend the programme and participate to make this programme successful. Prominent personalites from Dakshina Kannada will be attending the function as guests," he said.
