Mangaluru: Man supplying ganja to college students nabbed

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jul 8: Abdul Rahim alias Goods Rahim alias Kandi Rahim (40), said to be a prime ganja peddler engaged in supplying ganja to young people and college students in the city, stands arrested by a team of city crime branch (CCB) police. He is a resident of Ansari Cross Road in Bunder here.

Rahim was nabbed when he was selling ganja stored in a new Honda Activa two-wheeler vehicle near the Old Bunder area in the city. 1.35 kg ganja worth Rs 20,000, two gold chains, two finger rings, two cell phones, and the two-wheeler were seized from his possession. Total value of all these things has been estimated at Rs 2.4 lac.

It is said that the accused used to make small sachets of ganja and supply them to students of various colleges, other educational institutions, as well as members of the public. He was facing three earlier cases in city (north) station relating to ganja sale. His brother, Farooq, had been arrested by the police last week and ganja was confiscated from his possession. At that time, Rahim had succeeded in giving the policemen a slip.

The raid was conducted by CCB inspector, Valentine D'Souza and police sub-inspector, Syam Sundar, under the directions of police commissioner, S Murugan, and guidance of deputy commissioner of police, K M Shantaraju.

The accused as well as the things seized from his possession have been handed over to city (north) police station for further action.

Sad state of our country a man peddles drugs get caught comes out and again sells drugs mass killing the youths of India! In some southeast asian countries (like thailand, malaysia etc) just carrying drugs while entering country will lead to death penalty without any mercy!!! Here in our country anyone can dare to sell drugs and destroy society and if got caught bribe his way out and again dare to do the same business....I have one dream/wish those people who helps these criminals out...their own family/kids should become complete drug addicts and die a dogs death!!!

This shows how jealous and hatred you are.  You have closed eyes for the multi billion dollar scams being carried out by bjp people under the nose of our PM who is enjoying his days in foreign countries and 90 percent of his days are in the overseas. People like you should be behind bars for making illegal and unconstitutional remarks on our CM

Why you have to treat ganja as a deadly drug?
College life needs some fun. I think rarely people come out of college life without having tasted ganja. Once they get into professional life, they forget about it. Thats the fact and for the same reason it is legalised in some states of US, Alaska and Netherlands.

After all it is ganja, not any synthetic chemical.

It is appropriate to find the list of people who are his regular customers so that drug users could be traced and given some moral & social reformation. Parents are in dark from such boy’s real way of life.

Who is going to keep an eye on them. All the confiscated item should be a reward to the police and their team and see the wonderful work that will go on. Catch them make them poor and turn them black and blue. Jai Hind. Bravo Police good job done.

There was a time when alcohol was banned in U.S.A. Prohibition time. Police used to nab bootleggers.
Similarly, India banned this godly substance after the pressure from USA in the 80s. Ironically, its legal in some states of USA now.
Knowing the fact that its illegal and he is peddling, he should be arrested and dealt with a minor punishment.
Substance abuse in adult s is left with their conscience. While if adolescents are indulged in the activity then the peddler needs to be punished.

ganja/ marijuana isnt really that bad its made out to be. alcohol and cigarette are equally harmful. but you dont see govt putting ban on those. western countries are pushing towards legalising marijuana.

the reason why marijuana was banned in US is quite outrages,..

During hearings on marijuana law in the 1930’s, claims were made about marijuana’s ability to cause men of color to become violent and solicit sex from white women. This imagery became the back for the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937 which effectively banned its use and sales.

Now how the hell is that relevant to india????
