Mangaluru, Jul 8: Fr Thomas D'Souza, parish priest of Mukka Church passed away due to cardiac arrest on Wednesday July 8. He was 60.

He breathed his last at 6.15 am at Father Muller Hospital.

A native of Beltangady parish, Fr Thomas D'Souza was born on January 18, 1955 to Jacob D'Souza and Christine Pinto.

He was ordained priest on May 4, 1982, after which he served in various parishes. He was assistant parish priest at Valencia (1982-'83), Karkala town (1983-'84) and Cordel, Kulshekar (1984-'85). He then served as parish priest of Sampaje from 1985 to 1992.

Thereafter, he took charge as the manager of Codialbail Press, where he worked till 1999.

He then served as parish priest of Byndoor (1999-2006), Permannur (2006-2013) and Mukka until his demise.

The funeral mass will be held at 4 pm at Holy Spirit Church, Mukka on Thurday July 9, and the mortal remains will be interred at Mukka church cemetery.

    Very sad to hear about the sudden demise of Fr. Thomas. A holy priest, a kind hearted person. I knew him well, he was former parish priest, who did an excellent job for arranging everything for my Priestly Ordination.
