Just because they've taken the cows to the abattoir, it doesn't mean the act was illegal (beef is legal in karnataka). Also, just because they ran away, it does not mean they were thieves - in fact, there was a big mob of BD goons waiting for them in addition to the police. Whether it is a cow or a chicken any animals used in Agriculture are to be treated humanely.Punishment should be given to individuals transporting animals that do not meet minimum requirements of humane conditions. Be it a hen or a cow or a goat or a pet- euthanasia or humane way of killing should be the law if these animals have outlived their utility. I see horrible conditions in our local chicken markets- smell of death and noise to those waiting their turn !! - It is not without reason that animal activism has taken root but they have gone overboard.
If a cow has stopped giving milk and is old - most humane way is to end its life painlessly and bury its carcass. Documents need to be maintained that way every owner is held accountable for.

Newspapers say that the cows that are brought to goshalas are received from front door and are sold by the back door to beef exporters. Largest exporter is Al-kabeer, owned by a Hindu.

The 4 people arrested last week by Charmadi police for cow trafficking are: Manjunath, Chandra Shekar, Vajid Pasha and Babu Saheb. People of all religions are involved. Talk something and do another thing. Why Sadhus, Sants and Swamis are quiet ?

Firstly, let's put things in perspective - Beef is not banned in karnataka the way it is in Maharashtra , so to assume that anybody transporting cattle is committing an illegal act is a downright false assumption. Also, most of the cattle are bought from these traders from farmers paying hard earned money. If they were taking it for slaughter legally, neither the police nor any group has any right to intervene. This type of incident is bound to happen when govt restricts free transportation of cattle...If it is freely allowed then no such dumping of cattle in a vehicle to avoid " cattle police"in mangalore..

The story must begin after seizing the cows,it goes under goshalas and then the same gobakths representatives supply them to meat export companies.Till now no court or any authorities spoken about these seized cows.Consuming beef is not compulsory but its a complete energy meal when served halal.But due to somebody's illogical believes why should we sacrifice these option.Its time now to create some flexible legal beef market.Just see how the beef export got up by 17 percent under the present chaddi govt.The policy of modi govt is clear that just minimize internal beef consumption and increase export.

This is their traditional food. If Cattle slaughtering is not allowed in the region, does not mean they should not eat. But they have to respect the Law & order, can't do illegal activities.

My point is , if other religion can eat Chicken, Mutton & Fish, why can't they eat Beef.?

I am Traditional Agriculture family and having so many cattle for our agriculture activity and cattle's very near to us and part of our family. We are not pond of Beefs but same time we are not against Beef consumer. One thing clear consuming stolen meats is Haram In Islam. There is clear cut Hadis is there by Ummer Ibn Khatab(RA) second caliph of Islam. Hence Muslims are not consuming stolen cattle meats.

So whoever it may be cattle trafficking is punishable.

People in village buy cows by taking loan and now if you have two cows you can earn your daily bread at some stage by selling the milk.

Our beloved brothers steal the source of daily bread and want to enjoy lavish life. The way these people transport cows is really cruel and sad.

People from same community should hold a meeting in every village / town headed by religious head and condemn those activities and throw such culprits out of their community.

Dear Friend..Did you read article in Daiji " Kundapur: Two from Suratkal beaten for cow stealing".just scroll down..you will get this article..I hate people who steal cows..Some poor people depend on selling milk..that is their bread and butter..and these cow thieves don't allow them to live peacefully..EAT BEEF.. BUT DON'T STEAL..I support Bajrang Dal in this case..otherwise so many poor families would have lost cows..
