Maoists abduct, release Bihar student

Patna, Jul 9 (IANS): Armed Maoists kidnapped a school student in Bihar's Jamui district and later released him. They also threatened to damage the school, police said on Thursday.

"A group of armed Maoists kidnapped a student on Wednesday night and released him Thursday morning. They have threatened to damage the school building if it is not vacated," a police officer said.

The school - Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya (residential school) - hit headlines last month when it was found that 30 of the 31 top scorers of the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) were its students.
