Media Release

Udupi, Jul 10: At a programme organized by Devadiga Vedike at Padu Alevoor here on Sunday July 5, the members of the committee reignited the interest in agricultural activities among people by transplanting paddy.

The forum made a sincere start and has so far achieved success in organized planning. Every member of the committee enjoyed the sowing of paddy on muddy land and involved themselves in the activity with a lot of commitment. They finished the planting of 75 cents of fertile field within three hour. The forum has decided to regularize agriculture promoting activities and will conduct these activities every year.

This program tends to create awareness among youth about the significance of agriculture and promoting development of agricultural activities. If the agricultural crop goes down, people will have to face tough days.

Storage of water on fertile land will increased the ground water level, says Prabhakar, chief secretary of the forum.

Praveen, treasurer of the forum speaking on the program said that such activities should not be restricted to their society, but other organizations must conduct agriculture promoting programs.

"This program was held very hygienically and profitably," opined Sridhar Devadiga.

President Karthik Kumar, vice president Jeevaratna, former members Geetha Devadiga, Srinivas Devadiga, Manjunath Devadiga, Chandrakant Devadiga, Madhav Devadiga, Anand Devadiga, Ashok Sherigar and others were present at the field work.
