NRI rape attempt-accused arrested by Badiyadka police

Kasargod, Jul 13: Police personnel belonging to Badiyadka station in the district have succeeded in arresting a rape attempt-accused. The accused, who is employed in the Gulf region, had abducted a girl student, and had tried to rape her after taking her to a deserted place, it is said.

The arrested person has been identified as Hussain (32), resident of Mookampare near Badiyadka. He is employed in the Gulf region, and had come to his native place about a month back. Since the last some days, he had begun to stay in the residence of his sister at Chedekal.

Recently, Hussain allegedly had forced a tenth standard girl student to board a car he was driving. It is said that he took the girl to a secluded spot and tried to rape her. The girl succeeded in shouting for help and wriggling out of his clutches. After reaching home, she had explained about this traumatic experience to her family members. The family had then complained to the Childline. After the Childline officials asked policemen to apprehend the culprit, Badiyadka police registered a complaint and arrested Hussain.
