Poisonous gas kills three in UP


Lucknow, July 13 (IANS): Three people were killed in Uttar Pradesh when poisonous gas leaked from a well in an agricultural field on Monday, police said.

The incident took place at Majra Kheda village in Hardoi district.

The deceased have been identified as Sonu, Bhagwan Deen and Hemdas. They include a father and son.

The incident took place when a 20-year-old man went down into an abandoned well in his field but soon fell unconscious. When two other villagers went to his help, they too were suffocated.

By the time they were taken out, all three had suffocated to death.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
