Modi greets France on Bastille Day


New Delhi, Jul 14 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday extended his good wishes to the people of France on Bastille Day.

Modi said: "Democracy and common values bring India and France together. From the land to the skies, from the sea to space, the scale and extent of our cooperation is very wide."

"The future of our ties is bright and together, we can contribute in making the world more peaceful, secure and prosperous."

Bastille Day commemorates the beginning of the French Revolution with the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789, as well as the Fete de la Federation which marks the unity of the French people on July 14, 1790.
