Mangaluru: Tulu comedy film 'Super Marmaye' to hit screen in August

Mangaluru, Jul 16: In the past 44 years, 56 Tulu films have been released, out of which 7 films hit the screens in 2014 alone, with three of them managing to complete 100 days. This year, all the 4 films released so far have completed 50 days. Now, a new comedy film ‘Super Marmaye’ which has obtained ‘U’ certificate from the censor board is all set to hit the silver screen in the second week of August.

The film is directed by Ram Shetty, a veteran of more than 700 films in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi and Gujarati languages. He has also directed many popular films in Hindi like Army, Gaddar and Khatarnak. The movie is being presented by Adyar Madhav Naik.

Ram Shetty is not new to his mother tongue Tulu film industry. ‘Badkere Budle’ in 1982, ‘Dareda Seere’ in 1983 and ‘Bangarda Kural’ in 2012 were his memorable films. This time he decided to do a comedy film though he comes from action background. He has not performed any stunt scenes in the film though he is a stunt master.

Rickshaw driver (Meenanath Raghavendra Rai) falls in love with the daughter (role played by ‘Chaali Polilu’ fame Divya shree), of bank manager (Gopinath Bhat) and his wife (Shradda Salian). The love affair has many comedy twists. Naveen Padil, Bhojraj Vamanjoor, Aravind Bolar have also acted in the film. Shradda originally from Manipal has acted in many Hindi films and serials notably in 'Jini aur Juju' telecast in Sab TV.

Shobha Rai, Shivadwaj of ‘Bangarda Kural’ fame, Karnoor Mohan Rai, Agnel Rodrigues, Pradeep Alva, Satish Bandare, Deepak Rai Panaje, Ganesh Malli have also acted in the fillm.

Izan is the cameraman. Navin Shetty Alake has written the dialogues. Chandrakanth Shetty has scored the music. Lyrics have been written by Shashiraj Kavoor. Sachin Shetty is the assistant director.

Deepak Shetty Kudradi, Jagadish Shetty Sarvani, Purushottam Bhanday Adyar also have worked for the movie in different capacities.
