Georgia's poll panel chief gets overview of Indian process


New Delhi, July 16 (IANS): Tamar Zhvania, who heads the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia, on Thursday visited the office of Delhi's chief electoral officer to get an overview of the voter registration process.

Chief Electoral Officer Chandra Bhushan Kumar highlighted various initiatives taken to motivate the people to come out and vote.

Zhvania also went to a voters' centre at R.K. Puram assembly constituency to get a hands-on experience of the electoral registration process.

Sanjay Kumar, district election officer, briefed her about various aspects of electoral registration and conduct of elections.

A demonstration of the working of electronic voting machine was also given at the mock polling station at the voters' centre.
