Army commander greets Kashmiris on Eid


Udhampur, July 17 (IANS): A senior Indian Army commander on Friday greeted the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of Eid on Saturday, hoping the end of Ramadan will lead to "unity and happiness".

Lt Gen D.S. Hooda said in a statement that the "joyous celebrations of Eid marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan (should) bring with it unity, happiness and a feeling of brotherhood".

He hoped that "the festival will strengthen our faith and usher lasting peace, cohesion and prosperity in the state".
