Ghaziabad cop quarters freed of illegal occupants

Ghaziabad, July 17 (IANS): Ghaziabad police on Friday evacuated the residential quarters in the local police lines complex of illegal occupants, an official said.

Police personnel who had been transferred here were over-staying in the quarters originally allotted to them. They were served several notices but these went ignored.

"Today (Friday) we evacuated 27 houses from unauthorised occupants," said Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Amar Singh, in-charge of the police lines here.

"New, middle-ranked police officers were facing an acute problem of official accommodation," the officer said.
