Corpse found from inside pipe kept near B C Road circle

Bantwal, Jul 18: The lifeless body of a man was recovered from one of the the huge pipes kept near the bypass circle at B C Road here on Friday July 17. The police have since identified the body as belonging to Gopalakrishna alias Timmappa (47) from Jakribettu in B Casba village.

Some locals who saw a body inside huge pipes kept near Riksha Bhavan at Goodinabali by the side of old national highway, conveyed this information to the police station. People had started gathering at the spot, as there was a feeling that the man had met unnatural death.

The policemen who took possession of the body, made inquiries. Identity of the body was confirmed after summoning relatives of the deceased from Jakribettu.

Some empty bottles were found by the side of the body. The policemen said that the man had ended his life by consuming poison. His relatives said that the Timmappa, who was depressed, had deserted his home and gone missing sometime back.
