Paltrow feels 'lucky' to be friends with former husband

New York, July 18 (IANS): Actress Gwyneth Paltrow feels "very lucky" that she and former husband Chris Martin are still friends following their divorce.

The 42-year-old actress, who announced her split from the Coldplay frontman, 38, in March 2014, says they are still very supportive of one another because their children, Apple, 11, and Moses, eight, are their priority.

Speaking at the #BlogHer15 conference here, where she gave a keynote speech on Friday, she said: "I'm very, very lucky that I have a partner who's willing to do it with me in a really collaborative way. I'm really for Chris and he's really for me and our children are our priority.

"What that really means is, even if you hate me and never want to see me again, we are going to brunch. It's definitely imperfect, (but we) are really great friends (and) he's a great dad."

The "Mortdecai" star was very honest with her son and daughter after she and Martin parted ways and did her best to reassure them.

Recalling what she told them at the time, the Oscar winner said: "'You know Daddy and I are famous and there's going to be a lot of stuff out there. I can't control what you'll see. But you know what's real and how much we love you.' (Our children) understand the difference between the inside and the outside world."
