Fair commemorating Genghis Khan in China

Beijing, July 18 (IANS): A seven day fair commemorating Mongol conqueror Genghis Khan began on Saturday in Ordos city of China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

The seven-day "nadam" (Mongolian harvest festival) fair featured a series of ethnic traditional sports, including horse walking, horse racing, archery and wrestling, reported Xinhua. Traditional singing and dancing performances will also be held.

It was the 11th edition of the festival.

Ordos is regarded widely as the place where Genghis Khan's undiscovered mausoleum is located.
