3 dead, 9 injured in a multi-storey building collapse in Delhi


New Delhi, Jul 19 (PTI): Three peolpe were killed and nine injured in a multi-storey building collapse in west Delhi on Saturday night with many feared trapped in the debris even as police and fire department officials rushed there to carry out rescue operation.

"The building in Vishnu Garden (in Khayala) collapsed and we are conducting a rescue operation. Many are feared to be trapped in the debris of the multi storey building," DCP (West Delhi) Pushpendra Kumar said.

Fire department officials said that the collapse of the five-storey building was reported at 9 pm and several fire tenders and rescue teams were rushed to the spot to conduct rescue operation.

    Very sad news! Who will own up the responsibility for this accident ? I have worked in Delhi and quality of structures built by MCD are the worst. Buildings are half finished and are equivalent to modern slums

    I hope Modi bhaktas will not blame Kejriwal govt for this bldg collapse and use Delhi's Puppet-Police to register cases against some AAP members for this bldg collapse.
