Puttur, Jul 20: Narayana Naik (50), additional sub-inspector of Kumble police station, who was washed away by a rivulet that was in spate, is yet to be found. When he was trying to cross the submerged bridge at Pallathur near Sullyapadavu across a rivulet on Saturday evening in his motor bike, he was carried away along with his two-wheeler by gushing water.

searches conducted till late night on Sunday July 19 failed to yield any result. Narayan Naik had come to visit his family house at Mayyala on the state's border on Friday night. He was returning home on Saturday evening at around 5 pm. After observing that water level flowing above the bridge was not too much, he had tried to cross the bridge on his Pulsar motor bike. However, he had failed to gauge the force of water, which washed him and his vehicle away.
